Forum URL: sashaalexandernet.proboards.comHello! I recently added a header image to my forum, and suddenly the nav-tree doesn't seem to want to behave. On the home page, half of a left arrow can be seen... and it appears to no longer want to do breadcrumbs properly (it's shifted everything to the left). I don't recall having made any changes to the .css so I really don't know what could be wrong. Would love some advice. Thanks for your time!

Hi Unfortunately, as a guest, i can not view the forum. Is it possible to open the forum up to guests, or would you prefer to wait for a member of the ProBoards team to take a look? Craig

Hi cynth, I took a look at the forum and the nav tree is appearing normal to me. Were you able to get it sorted?

Hi Ricky,
Yes, thank you. I discovered it was because I had deleted the forum name as I didn't want it to show up on my homepage (since I have a banner) - because of this, the nav-tree breadcrumbs got a bit confused with the lack of content. Thank you very much for getting back to me.
One more question - I'm looking to upgrade to Forums.net, primarily only because I want to be able to customize my login/registration pages. However, after browsing their demo several times I can't really seem to find where to do this. The only difference I can see is that I can redirect the log-out page. If I upgrade, will my login/registration no longer be the same as it is now (i.e. the Proboards system), do they have their own system? Or is it the same and I can just adjust the look of the pages? And if so, could you advise where inside the Forums.net admin area I could do this? Just want to make sure it is what I need before I change... otherwise I would be happy to just stay with Proboards, I think it's great.
Thanks again for your help!

Currently you wouldn't be able to modify the content of the login and registration pages, but you should be able to adjust the styling of them with CSS to your style sheet. It would require knowledge of CSS to do so, however. But if there's something specific you want to do, we should be able to assist with it

Thanks, that'd be great. I'm just looking to perhaps adding a background image and just adjusting the colors and fonts of the titles (forum name / URL that comes up in the header). I'm not great at CSS but ok with the simple stuff, if you could just direct me to which classes or bits and pieces refer to the login/reg pages that I'd need to adjust for those things? And would this just be done in the themes advanced CSS part of admin? Appreciate the help.

The login page on a Forums.net forum looks the same as every other page on your forum. It would basically look similar to the Welcome page you have set up now, except instead of the HTML box you have now there would be a Login or Register box in its place.
To customize it you'd need to add CSS to the end of Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS > Style Sheet.

Ok. So I tried to do something basic like change the background, and used the inspector to find related ID's and classes. Have tried to call the current background element and change it by...
#wrapper.forum_mode #inner-wrapper #gradient {background-image: url('myimage.png');}
... but obviously something is wrong with my nested references. Please advise? Thank you for your patience.

Which element on the page are you attempting to add a background to?

The "gradient" element, which I see a current background png (I assume that's the black/grey gradient image currently that is in the inner container around the form). I was trying to replace it with my own image.

If you mean the "Welcome!" title bar on your forum's home page that one is simply:

I mean on the login/register page where there is the standard gradient background.

You unfortunately can not modify those pages at this time. Hopefully this is something that will come in time.

Ok, thanks Craig. I think I must have misunderstood or was unclear in explaining what I wanted or something, because Ricky did say that I wouldn't be able to modify the content of those pages (which is fine) but that styling would be ok. Anyway, no biggie! Thanks for all yours and everyone else's patience and help.
